Nevada Youth Network Inc., a registered 501c(3) (46-5026122), was founded in 2013. The founding board members saw fit to create an organization whose purpose is to foster the growth and independence of young people within their own communities. Our Community-Based Model is based on the following principals:
· Provide educational and recreational support to low-income youth.
· Empower youth and young adults to make informed choices related to their physical, mental and socio-emotional well-being.
Sherman Gardens and Marble Manor Youth Centers
In partnership with the Housing Authority, we run a youth center in the Sherman Gardens and Marble Manor Housing development. Three days per week, volunteers provide recreational activities and tutoring for the youth of the neighborhood giving them a positive alternative and empowering them with skills that will help guide them throughout life.
WHAT WE DO
Currently, the Sherman Garden center is open Tuesdays (5:30pm-7:00pm) and Thursdays (5:30pm-7: 00pm) and the Marble Manor center is open Wednesday (5:30pm-7:00pm). We assist the youth with homework, expose them to new and creative developmental experiences, and provide mentorship opportunities.
